Laura is a qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist. Laura worked in the capacity of an Occupational Therapist in Maple House and now as a Hospital Manger, she has supported the development of this service to achieve a good CQC rating. Prior to joining Maple House, Laura worked as an Occupational Therapist across both secure inpatient and specialist community services, these experiences developed her knowledge and practice skill sets. Laura is very clear that in addition to clinical therapeutic engagement individuals need to develop a range of occupational capabilities whilst in a rehabilitation service to ensure a successful and sustainable transition to less restrictive services.

Dr Vishwanath Ramakrishna

Consultant Forensic Neuropsychiatrist & Medical Lead GMC 6058514

Dr Vishy GMC reference no 6058514, joined us in Sep 2018. He is a Consultant Forensic Neuropsychiatrist with postgraduate qualifications in Forensic Psychiatry, Law and Clinical Neurology. He has over 15 years of clinical experience and has worked across a diverse range of secure and non-secure services both in the NHS and the Independent Sector. He has extensive experience of developing specialist mental health services including neurorehabilitation and autism services. He has published papers and presented at various conferences on a range of issues including brain injury. He has received a number of awards including the Howard White Memorial Prize, Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Clinical audit prize and Certificates of High Commendation. He was awarded his Master of Laws in Mental Health Law with Commendation. He completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Neurology from Queens Square, London with distinction and was also judged Best Student. Vishy believes that there is no magic in a building and it is staff who make a service unique and specialist. Over the years, he has developed and delivered training for frontline staff in specialist areas. One such training program on Neurorehab that involved patient participation, was a UK wide finalist in Service User awards. Vishy is passionate about patients receiving high quality assessments and interventions that are evidence based. He has a strong reputation for leading on quality improvement initiatives.

Dr Jennifer Vaughan

Clinical Psychologist in Neuropsychology

Dr Jennifer Vaughan offers sessional input to the ABI service at Maple House. She has 8 years' experience working as a qualified Clinical Psychologist. She is HCPC registered and a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). She works within a Community Neurorehabilitation Service, working with people with acquired brain injury (e.g., traumatic brain injury, stroke) and other neurological conditions (e.g., Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis). She has experience of working within forensic settings, working with people experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties and/or acquired brain injury. Prior to specialising with neuropsychology, she had experiences working within primary, secondary and inpatient mental health services. She completed her undergraduate psychology degree at The University of Sheffield and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at The University of Manchester. She has also completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Neuropsychology at The University of Glasgow.

Jemma Thompson

HR Administrator

Jemma has worked at Maple House since 2016, she has supported the growth and development of the service. Jemma holds NVQ in business and administration management. Prior to joining KR Health & Social, Jemma worked in early years settings, including being a room manager at a nursey setting. Her ambition to support those with ill mental health led her to seek another career. Today, Jemma supports the day to day running of Maple House, leading on administration and all thing HR.

I have over 33 years experience of working with people with disabilities in a variety of different settings. I specialise in the areas of; Mental health and Deafness, Learning Disabilities (including ASC - Autistic Spectrum Conditions and PIMD - Profound Intellectual and Multiple Disabilities) and dysphagia. I am committed to the use of Total Communication techniques and use staff training coupled with assessment as the keys to the creation of specific environments which support change and communicative interactions for individuals
